David McKenna

David McKenna is a recovering alcoholic and cocaine addict. He has turned his life around through his relationship with Christ, and subsequent recovery, and is now a successful entrepreneur. He is President & CEO of Bonded Entertainment, which is the holding company for Bonded Records, Bonded Books, Synergy Management & Promotions, and Bonded Pictures.

Bonded Pictures is developing their first major motion picture, which will begin shooting around summer 2010.  It is the story of Renee Yohe, the girl who's story birthed the organization, "To Write Love on Her Arms." David's friendship and guidance to Renee introduced then roommate Jamie Tworkowski to her, where he would write the story that started the organization.  David's ministry is helping addicts and alcoholics who are still sick and suffering.

Session: "What's Next: Taking the Steps After Identifying the Problem"
Synopsis: We have all heard the adage that “the first step is admitting you have a problem.” This is the basis, and first step, for all 12-step programs. Once we have identified an issue within our group, what is the next step? Many times, within the church, we fail to provide the necessary resources that are crucial to start one on the path to recovery, and that can be potentially fatal. While Jesus is the answer, we must acknowledge addiction for what it is: a disease, and treat it accordingly. This session focuses on what to do after you identify the problem. Lives are at stake; we cannot fail our youth. In addition to prayer and community, we need to direct those suffering to the other components of treating their disease. We are dealing with dark, complex issues, and we can't pretend to know what one individual may be going through at a particular time.

Some of David's story can be seen here.
