Greg Stier

Greg has a reputation for knowing and relating to today's teens in unique and effective ways. Because of his 20+ years in youth ministry, Greg is widely viewed as an authority and expert on teen issues and adolescent spirituality. Over the course of the last 15 years, Greg has spoken to well over 300,000 teens in major venues across the nation and heard countless stories of their struggles and triumphs.

Greg speaks from personal experience and relates to teens on a deeply personal level. Raised in an inner-city family of violent body builders, Greg never had a dad, was almost aborted, and never felt like he measured up because his biceps weren't big enough! But one by one, he saw his tough, urban family of "thugs" come to know Christ. And that ignited a passion in Greg to see all lost people come to know Jesus. Greg's vision is to mobilize teenagers from every high school and middle school in America to reach and equip their circle of friends for Christ.

Greg is well-known for his ability to inspire teenagers to action by communicating Biblical truth through amazing true-life stories and side-splitting humor. This ability to connect with teens has made him a nationally known and sought-after speaker and author who speaks to the heart of teen issues and helps teens find their significance in God. As a dynamic communicator, Greg has had the privilege of appearing on several national television and radio shows.

Session: "What Drove Jesus Should Drive Everything"
Synopsis: During his earthly ministry Jesus was driven by an almost fanatical commitment to reach those who were lost. He pursued those who were broken, reached out to those who were hurting and transformed those who were willing. The same fanatical focus that drove Jesus, his disciples and the early church should drive our ministry efforts as well. But, more often than not, youth leaders are not engaging their young followers with THE Cause that drove Jesus. Many youth leaders have been distracted from the original call of Christ to reach the lost by making disciples who make disciples. As a result youth ministry in the typical church is failing to gain ground on the kingdom of darkness and is succumbing to a model that is, at best, ineffective.

THE Cause is a rallying cry for youth leaders to finish the job that Jesus left for us to accomplish. It’s about calling teenagers to something bigger than themselves. It’s about mobilizing them to reach their friends with the message and mission of Jesus. It’s about recalibrating our lives, teenagers and programs around THE Cause that matters most, THE Cause of Christ himself.
